Murchison Park falls formerly named Kabalega is the largest national park in Uganda and sits on the shore of Lake Albert in the northwestern part of Uganda. One of the famous features in the park is the magical waterfalls that generate a trail of spray giving you a beautiful rainbow, the waterfall is also ranked as the most powerful waterfall in the world that one wouldn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to see the dramatic view of the fall that is found at the top where the sight and the sound of the Nile crashes through the 6m wide chasm.
The national park is home to 76 mammal species that would interest you. Some of the animals you will enjoy seeing are elephants, water buffaloes, lions, leopards, hippopotamus, giraffes, bushbucks, antelopes, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, and many others. For bird lovers, the Park is also home to large a breeding population of over 451 birds for instance herons, ducks, bee-eaters, fish eagles, kingfishers and sometimes the rare shoebill found along the Albert delta.
