World’s Primate Capital…
Kibale national park is a safarier’s paradise that has developed into an exploration activity park for the safariers. What makes this game park unique is the fact that it has the highest density of primates in Africa and it is the second-best place in the world to track chimpanzees. The park has a home to a vast population of chimpanzees of about 1500 and the biggest number of safariers go to the park for chimpanzee trekking. Tracking these chimpanzees is made more interesting and easier because five groups are habituated to human contact so they become friendlier to the safariers. The park gives you about an hour with a group of chimpanzees. For those who intend to spend the whole day with a group of chimpanzees’ habituation, there is a provision for them to stay longer tracking. This is the best place in East Africa for this experience. It begins early in the morning till later in the day and the guides educate safariers on the whole experience.
The spectacular vegetation consists of the moist evergreen tropical forest, swamps that support a diversity of flora and fauna; and the savannah along the rift valley floor. This is one of the very beautiful and striking forests in Uganda. It is home to 70 mammal species mostly 13 primate species; the uncommon L’honest monkeys and also the biggest population of the endangered red colobus monkeys. Read MoreShare this tour
