Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by a Winco Safari Guide in the Arrivals section who will drive you to your hotel for an overnight. In the event that you come off an early or midday flight, you will have the option of engaging in optional activities such as; behind the scenes experience at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Visit the orphaned chimpanzees at Ngamba Island, Visit the Botanical Gardens famed for the 1940s Tarzan movie or enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise on Lake Victoria.
Today you will drive to the Mabamba papyrus swamps and hop into a canoe in search abundant bird species such as the famous shoebill, Grey Herons, Egrets, Papyrus Gonolek, White winged Warbler, Orange Weaver and so much more. In the afternoon you visit Kasenyi fishing village for a guided tour of how the local fishermen conduct business, identify fish species caught and even have a taste of the fish types being caught. You will later drive back to the lodge and relax.
Today you will drive through Kampala as you head to Nakasongola district for a birding adventure at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary; the sanctuary is home to the Southern-white Rhinos that have been recently introduced in Uganda. You will be led by an experienced Ranger on a walking safari to track down these Rhinos as well as identify bird species, the sanctuary is home to an estimated 300 bird species such as the Grassland Pipit, Great sparrow hawk, Flappet Lark, Eurasian Nightjar, Barn Swallow, and so much more. You will spend the night at the sanctuary.
After breakfast you will drive to Budongo Forest for yet another birding experience, the forest is characterized by balanced verdant forest, with patched of savanna, woodland and home to chimpanzees, expect to identify the Pitta Reichenowi, Parmoptila Woodhousei, Sylviette Denti among others, you will then proceed to the famed Murchison Falls National Park for an amazing adventure. The national park is home to the world’s most powerful waterfall, an estimated 76 mammal species, over 451 bird species and breath taking landscapes. You will arrive at lodge where you will relax.
Today you will head out to Kaniyo Pabidi forest in search of amazing birdlife, the forest is also home to habituated chimpanzees and a birding platform for identify Albertine Rift endemics such as the Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, White-thighed Horbill and Puvel’s Illadopsis among a range of other species.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise up the Nile where you will enjoy watching the resident water wildlife like crocodiles, hippos, water birds on the banks of the nile and others flying about such as Flamingos among many more, expect to sight the visiting buffalos and elephants, you will then proceed to the famous Murchison Falls for a spectacular view of the falls, you will hike to the top of the falls for photograph moments and later transfer to the lodge.
After an early breakfast, you will embark on an early morning game drive as you enjoy a beautiful African sunrise. You will drive through picturesque landscapes consisting of open savannah grassland, Borassus palms; the grasslands provide a grazing platform for herbivores as well as a hunting ground for predators. You will search for leopards, hyenas, lions, buffalos, elephants, waterbucks, and abundant birdlife.
In the evening, you will head out for another game drive to sight more wildlife and bird species.
Today you will have a hearty breakfast and fasten your seat belt for a drive back to Entebbe International Airport, you will have a warm lunch along the way, enjoy viewing beautiful landscapes and local people carry on with their lives. Upon reaching the airport, your Guide will assist you unload luggage for your check-in. You will take your flight back home with wonderful memories of your safari.
